The blog of Robotic Vision Engineer of MUVA.
I am a student of the Master's Degree in Machine Vision taught by the Rey Juan Carlos University. In this blog I am going to show you the development process of the Robotic Vision practices of the same master, implemented in the jderobot.github.io/RoboticsAcademy platform.
3D Reconstruction: Matching feature points.
After the extraction of the characteristic points, the points from the left and right images must be matched. Through the epipolar geometry we know the epipolar constraint that says that for every point of a stereoscopic pair of images, there is an epipolar line on the other image in which its homologous is found.
3D Reconstruction journey
One of the most common challenges we can find in computer vision is the 3D reconstruction. This treats about rebuilding reality in 3 dimensions starting from two images in 2 dimensions. 3D recontruction it's very useful for virtual reality tasks or for a robot making a map to locate it self.
About me
